It’s been a whole year since Ogechi Cecilia Ofor participated in the Femme Inspire 2024 program and wow, sis has been on a journey! Cecilia is the powerhouse founder behind the CeciliaOfor Empowerment Foundation, championing women’s sexual and reproductive health, rights and empowerment. She is passionate about helping women live healthier lives and have access to the right support and information.
How did you get involved with Femme Inspire?
When I joined Femme Inspire, I was still very shy and honestly scared to speak up about my advocacy. I had ideas, but I didn’t know how to express them well. Through the mentorship and training at Femme Inspire, I built confidence, improved my public speaking, and learned how to share my ideas in a powerful way.”
What kind of support did you receive?
Femme Inspire gave me the platform to grow. Even when things were tough, they supported me. I had space to practice speaking, receive feedback, and connect with people who believed in my vision. That support came at exactly the time I needed it.
How has your journey changed since then?
Since being part of Femme Inspire, my journey has been completely transformed. I’ve been invited to speak at several conferences and summits, and now I step on stage and speak with confidence about my work and advocacy. It’s been amazing to see just how much I’ve grown.
What’s one achievement you’re proud of?
In October 2025, I was selected among the top 0.075% out of 4,000 applicants worldwide to attend the World Health Summit in Berlin, Germany. That was such a big moment for me, and it reminded me how far I’ve come.
Any final words?
I’m really grateful to Femme Inspire for believing in me and helping me find my voice. To every woman out there, don’t be afraid to start small. Growth takes time, but every step is worth it.
